rexplor is a mobile app concept built around a simple idea: travelers often spend too much time planning and still struggle to find authentic local experiences. The app allows locals to create tours around their favorite places, while travelers can discover, choose and follow ready-made routes directly from their phone. The project combined product strategy, mobile development, UX design, market research and early business thinking.

01 — Problem

Travel takes planning.

The project started from a clear pain point: city exploration often requires too much preparation. Travelers spend hours searching through maps, blogs and review platforms, while still ending up with generic recommendations. The goal was to reduce that friction and help users access more local, authentic experiences without having to plan everything themselves.

Too many tabs, too many lists, not enough actual exploring.

02 — Product

Tours by locals.

rexplor lets locals create themed tours around places they know and care about. Travelers can browse tours around them, pick one, buy it and follow the route step by step. The product is designed for two audiences at once: travelers looking for better discoveries, and locals who want to share their city, culture or personal expertise.

03 — Strategy

From idea to market.

Beyond the app itself, the project explored the product strategy behind rexplor: target users, creator profiles, monetization and launch timing. The business model was based on paid tours and commission, with possible packs for coins, quantity or time. The go-to-market thinking focused on early communities such as students, travel forums, Reddit groups and existing tourism platforms.
